One - because I am new, but also because I dont have that many pictures in my portfolio yet. but I was very surprised, pleasantly surprised to see that people have already started to purchase my photos. so I wanted to share some tips with you on how you can also start making money on Shutterstock or if you are already making money, you can make more with these tips. So there are 4 simple ways that you can do this.
keep adding photos to your portfolio.
Now I know that any Shutterstock contributor will tell you that this is easier said than done and the reason is because it's hard even for some of your best photographers and videographers - it can be very difficult to get your images and your videos approved by Shutterstock reviewers.
even still, I have a few things that you can do to get pictures added to your portfolio. First off - don't get discouraged if your photo is rejected. instead, what you want to do is learn from the feedback that the reviewers give you about why your image was not accepted the first time. whatever they say was the problem -

try to fix it and then re-submit it and hopefully it'll be approved the next time. Also, another tip is to take several shots of your subject. for example - if you're taking a photo of a bird's nest, don't just take one photo - take 10 photos of the bird's nest. that way if one of the images is not accepted for whatever the reason, you have others that you can't submit that might be perfect.
for instance, maybe it got cloudy for a moment and it was a little darker on one shot and another shot was a lot brighter. so hopefully that'll help you.
tag, tag, tag,
your photos. currently, shutterstock allows contributors to add 50 tags (also known as keywords) to their photos. these keywords are used to help describe and identify your images. make sure you're taking advantage of this. add as many keywords as possible to describe and identify your photo. that way, your photo is more searchable and buyers can search on those terms and find your photos more easily.
create sets.
This is a feature that I don't think a lot of people use a lot. I could be wrong but I really like it. To me, a set is like a category so what I do is I try to put my photos into groups or categories. it helps your portfolio to be more organized. for example, if your contributor who has thousands of pictures creating sets would help organize your photos so that when buyers come to your profile they can have a little more - a little better idea of the types of pictures that you offer. I really like using the sets so you might give it a try.
promote your work.
for example, you can post your portfolio on your website - even if it's a career or photography website that you have. you can post it on there. and also you can share links on your social media profiles so for example, Facebook and Twitter. The thing I like about the links is that not only can you share a link to your portfolio, but you can also share
links to your sets as well as to individual photos. so hopefully these tips will help you to start making money on shutterstock or if you're already making money, hopefully it will help you to make even more.
